SKOMOR Soccer Club is the feeder program for Niles North and Niles West High Schools. SKOMOR is a competitive travel club for boys and girls teams U-9 to U-18, serving the Skokie/Morton Grovecommunity and surrounding areas. SKOMOR is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization registered with the Illinois Youth Soccer Association ( IYSA) and fields teams in the YSSL (boys' league) and the IWSL (girls' league).
Philosophy: SKOMOR is a developmental, competitive club dedicated to instruction in soccer fundamentals and teamwork while preparing players for continued competitive play.
Coaching and Administrative Staff: Each team is coached by a paid, licensed head coach/trainer. Parents serve important support volunteer roles as team managers and club staff. An elected volunteer Board of Directors meets monthly to oversee club operations.
Season of Play: 10-week fall and 10-week spring seasons, including one regional fall or spring tournament. Boys' games are played on Saturdays; girls' games are played on Sundays. A winter indoor season is an option, decided by each team, at an additional cost.
Practices: Practices are the core method of player development. Players must attend 2 practices per week. Regular weekly practices are held at various locations in Skokie and Morton Grove.
Tryouts: Open to all interested boys and girls ages 7 to 17. Held annually in June for the following fall/spring seasons.
FEES: The final fee will be determined by the total number of registered players.
Discounts are available for parents serving in designated club volunteers positions.
Our fee scale is tailored to each age level with no one player, for the 2009-2010 20th Anniversary Season, paying more than $800. For the U14 and under age groups, this will include, fall season, winter practices, spring season and a tournament. For the High School Age players this will include an outdoor (opposite your school season) and an indoor season.
